About the role

  • The Driver will work within The HALO Trust Cambodia’s Transport and Fleet Management Unit, directly supporting The HALO Trust Cambodia’s Programme.
  • The Driver will be managed by the Fleet Manager and will provide expertise and support to HQ staff and minefield work, to receive transport plans, arrange transport, drive and transport staff, materials, and goods based on transport arrangements to effectively carry out The HALO Trust’s and humanitarian work.
  • Primary Duties: Drive small cars, large cars, buses, and other vehicles as per the vehicle classification.
  • When transporting staff on the road, ensure safety and that staff adhere to safety principles before departure and during driving.
  • Fulfill duties and transport services with timely delivery and notification of receipt.
  • Prepare a daily checklist for assigned vehicles, including trailers and equipment, and ensure that the equipment matches the recommended standards.
  • Follow instructions regarding locations and road maps according to traffic laws and other updated legal documents, and ensure that all documents are copied for use.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks, schedule, and plan for preventive maintenance on a regular basis.
  • Collect and load demining materials and other materials, verify them accurately, secure them properly according to load specifications, and dispatch them according to the assigned work plan.
  • Be responsible for basic vehicle maintenance in accordance with all safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Check all related equipment before starting a journey.
  • Complete and verify paperwork correctly and record trips and fuel in the daily logbook.
  • Keep The HALO Trust vehicles clean and tidy at all times.
  • Inform the supervisor of the validity of driving-related documents for planning renewals.
  • Road Safety Application: Identify, reduce, and mitigate road safety risks and report them promptly.
  • Record all trips and fuel consumption in the logbook in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all legal road documents are renewed in time and are valid before traveling, such as driving licenses, insurance, and checks in compliance with government safety laws.
  • Additional Duties: Be a reserve staff for the regional logistics department to manage inventory and materials.
  • Liaise with other drivers on the daily work plan allocation and identify relevant training.
  • Assist the vehicle section in planning transport for vehicle and material usage appropriately.
  • Be responsible for other duties as assigned or instructed.
