About the role

Conduct technical studies of existing piped water stations and greenfield sites for potential acquisition.
Assess the value and conditions of pre-acquisition assets.
Plan for future water demand based on socio-economic survey data.
Design & oversee the construction of cost-effective infrastructure to meet future water demand.
Calculate the additional investment costs needed to connect all viable households in the license area (new pipeline installation, new treatment plant construction, new pumping & electrical equipment study and selection, other).
Implement expansion plans at newly acquired stations Oversee in-house construction projects.
Establish partnerships with engineering & construction consultants, contractors & vendors where appropriate for cost-efficient solutions.
Track project expenditure and timeline against original plans.
Provide technical support to the operations teams of the stations under KWSH management.
Define & document KWSH operational standards and increase station staff capacity.
Identify & introduce new solutions to KWSH Stations (production automation / optimization, energy efficiency, water quality improvements, KPI tracking).

Requirements

Engineering experience in water supply, hydraulic/network planning, water resources, or rural infrastructure projects for 2 to 3 years as a minimum General & Technical Skills Candidates should have practical experience with piped water systems, pipeline network planning, water demand assessment, or related hydraulic design work.
This role is not intended for general building, road, or construction engineers without direct exposure to water supply systems or hydraulic/network planning.
Strong familiarity with CAD, GIS/QGIS and other tools used for water supply network planning, mapping, design and project management.
Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as EPANE.
