Enumerator Consultant

Location: Phnom Penh with Travel to Province(s) as assigned

GRADE: Consultant TEAM/PROGRAMME: MEAL, PDQI CONTRACT LENGTH: May 2026-April 2027* *Contract based on available works, Save the Children Calls, and Enumerator Performance.

The Enumerator will conduct quantitative data collection for evaluation in assigned project(s). This role involves interacting with community members to gather necessary data, ensuring accuracy and adherence to ethical standards. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

SCOPE OF ROLE

Reports to: Field Supervisors Staff reporting to this post: None Role Dimensions: The role involves direct interaction with community members and requires effective communication and data collection skills.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

• Participate in data collection training and pilot testing.
• Conduct household and school surveys (at least 5 surveys/day/enumerator).
• Perform daily data quality checks, data entry, and upload to the system.
• Provide summary reports for data collection activities.
• Establish rapport with respondents and maintain confidentiality.
• Follow sampling selection procedures and interview techniques as instructed.
• Report any issues or complaints encountered during data collection to the Field Supervisor.
• Actively participate in daily meetings to evaluate progress and solve problems collaboratively.
• Use a tablet/smartphone for data collection and synchronize completed interviews with the server.
• Be available after data collection to provide clarifications or supplementary information regarding the collected data, as requested by the MEAL team to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Prepare observation reports from the field and debrief with the research team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Completed university degree in social sciences, education, or a related field.

Desired: Experience in carrying out fieldwork for data collection using structured interviews.

• Ability to work independently with little supervision.

• Experiences with qualitative data collection.
