About the role

The Pediatrician will provide comprehensive pediatric care across the clinic's outpatient, inpatient and emergency services.
The doctor will be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, stabilization, referral and follow-up of pediatric patients according to the clinical capabilities of the facility.
Conduct comprehensive pediatric consultations, history taking and physical examinations.
Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic pediatric conditions within the clinic's capabilities.
Assess fever, respiratory, gastrointestinal, infectious, allergic, dehydration and other pediatric presentations.
Order and interpret appropriate investigations, including POCT blood tests and rapid diagnostic tests.
Use ultrasound appropriately when clinically indicated and review relevant reports/findings.
Prescribe safe, appropriate pediatric medication, including weight-based dosing, allergies, contraindications and interactions.
Explain diagnosis, medication, treatment plan, expected course, warning signs and follow-up to parents/guardians.
Arrange follow-up, specialist review or hospital referral when required.
Provide prompt assessment and triage of children presenting with acute or potentially life-threatening conditions.
Assess airway, breathing, circulation, neurological status, vital signs and overall clinical stability.
Recognize pediatric deterioration and determine the level of urgency.
Obtain focused history and examination and decide whether the patient can be safely managed in the clinic.
Initiate emergency treatment and stabilization within the clinic's capabilities.
Manage common pediatric emergencies including respiratory distress, dehydration, seizures, allergic reactions, fever-related emergencies and acute deterioration.
Initiate oxygen, IV access, fluids, emergency medications and other supportive measures when clinically indicated.
Provide clear instructions to nurses regarding emergency interventions, monitoring and escalation.
Reassess response to treatment and modify management as clinically required.
Monitor patients requiring short-term observation in the Emergency Room and determine appropriate observation frequency.
