About the role

Review all compliance, including: Monthly Tax, Tax on Income, Patent Tax, Signboard Tax, Transportation Tax, Property Tax.
Keep up to date with Tax Prakas/Regulations, communicate to Finance Teams and Management as appropriate.
Ensure all Tax Returns/Declarations are submitted correctly and on time.
Challenge with tax auditor on unclear points of Tax Regulation.
Write protest letters on tax reassessment and ruling letters to protect the Company.
Review and correct process errors causing incorrect tax payment and tax filing.
Initiate internal controls to minimize risk.
Liaise with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues.
Company’s registration update with the General Department of Taxation.
Process closing of some dormant Companies.
Apply for Compliance Certificate (Gold, Silver, Bronze, etc.).
Apply for DTA (Tax saving for the Group).
Apply for Certificate of Compliance (CoC) annually with the CDC (for QIP Company).
Coordinate with TP Consultant in providing documents and answering their enquiries.
Conduct tax training for refreshment and update.
Regularly join monthly meetings of Private Sector ing Group D and Tax ing Group to collectively comment on new tax regulations and bring tax issues for discussion, aiming for transparency.
Perform any other tasks required by management.
Analyzes GDT position on tax assessments.
Evaluates company risk on each tax assessment point.
Coordinates with Group Tax Manager on ongoing tax assessment and develops joint strategy.
Negotiates with GDT on tax points to reach an acceptable situation.
Minimizes monetary tax assessment impacts.
Provide input on G/L Chart of Account setup and posting to minimize any manual re-analysis.
Provide feedback to Finance to address any posting errors, etc. Calculation of Tax Writing Tax Allowances, Balancing Charges, etc., and calculation of Disallowable Expenses, etc. Discuss and agree on Month-End and Year-End Tax Accounting entries with Finance Team and External Auditors.
Based on an understanding of the effective tax rate, establish Tax Plans to improve Tax Efficiency.
Identify Legal Entities with Tax Losses and establish plans for utilizing any significant losses.
Closely screen tax risk and foreseeable tax exposure of each legal entity, raise for discussion, and propose solutions at Group Level.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
5+ years of relevant tax experience, preferably with management or supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of Cambodian tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Experience in tax reporting, tax planning, tax audits, and ing with tax authorities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting/tax software.
Good command of English; Khmer proficiency required.
