The consultant will be engaged for 55 working days from June 15th to September 14th, 2026, to provide short-term technical assistance to strengthen malaria laboratory systems, quality assurance, and surveillance implementation, reporting, and response capacity in STRIDES-supported areas in six provinces (Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Stung Treng, Siem Reap, and Kampong Speu).

The consultant will support priority activities under Objectives 1–4 of the STRIDES malaria workplan, with a focus on rapid implementation and deliverables within a short period.

• Objective 1: Strengthen detection capacity and systems at the national and subnational level for both human and animal laboratory networks and increase access to quality laboratory services for diseases of public health importance.
• Objective 2: Develop sustainable surveillance systems, using event-based (EBS) and indicator-based surveillance (IBS) systems to detect events of significance for public health and health security.
• Objective 3: Provide technical assistance to develop and strengthen host country capacity in data collection, analysis, and reporting for actionable disease prevention and response decision making.
• Objective 4: Provide targeted technical and detection assistance during an outbreak.
